Aspects of a professional  career:

January  1975 through April 1979:

Railway engineer for operations and constructions at Deutsche BundesbahnDB (German Federal Railways) with posts in Braunschweig, Hanover and Hamburg / Germany.  Liaison engineer to the government of the federal state of Hamburg / Germany for operations and constructions of new railway lines in northern Germany.


Mai 1979 to January 1982:

German Federal Ministry of Transport. Responsible for economic evaluation of rail network

February 82 through December 88:

Deputy Managing Director of Mass Transit Authority of  Frankfurt / Germany  (commuter rail,  Metro systems, busses and light rail).

1988 to 1991:   

Senior Officer at the Office of the Management Board of Deutsche Bundesbahn DB

1991 to 1993:

Chairman of the DB (German Railways) owned  ferry line operator  DFO in the Baltic Sea

1993 to July 96:    

Project Leader for several projects in DB’s restructuring process (commercialization) 

1996:

Assistant Professor “ Railway Systems”  at the Technical College of Braunschweig / Germany
 
1996 to 2009:    

CEO of  AKN Railway Company

 2001 to 2009: 

Member of the supervisory board of  several companies. Member of the supervisory board of  the German Public Transport Association  (VDV).
